Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy expects to make a decision on his future next week.
Melbourne Storm's Craig Bellamy to confirm future plans
Craig Bellamy wants to clear his head before coming to a final decision over his future.
The 56-year-old's future has long since been the subject of speculation, with his contract coming to an end when the 2016 NRL season finishes.
Bellamy is said to have been offered a new deal until 2018, but the Storm coach revealed on Friday that he will announce his plans before his side's NRL opener against St George Illawarra Dragons on March 7.
"I'll probably get to a decision middle or late next week," Bellamy said.
"It's not far away but we have a few days off now so I'll clear my head - I want to make sure I make that right decision and I want to do it before the start of the season so hopefully it will be done next week."
Bellamy also said it is too early to say whether Billy Slater (shoulder) and Cameron Munster (knee) will feature against the Dragons.
"I'm really hopeful Bill will play but he's had a bit of an issue throughout pre-season. He did some contact [training] on Thursday and trained again on Friday, so we are very hopeful." said Bellamy.
"We will probably make a call before Saturday or Sunday, to be honest,
"We have a couple of days off and get back on Tuesday so we'll re-assess it then and make that decision."
