Troops clear Yobe of terrorists

The new development was announced by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters on Monday, March 16.

All communities in Yobe State are now free of Boko Haram terrorists, according to military authorities in Nigeria.

"Troops have this morning completed clearing terrorists out of Goniri in YOBE state” the DHQ tweeted.

This makes Yobe the second state to be cleared of the terrorists after Adamawa was recently declared Boko Haram-free.

Borno State is now currently the only state being occupied by the insurgents but troops have scored a major victory even in that state as they have recaptured Bama, the state’s second largest town, from Boko Haram.
