FDIs to generate over 1500 jobs

According to the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the service sector is expected to be the highest gainers especially the Agric sector.

The registered Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the third quarter of 2016 is expected to generate 1,504 jobs.

This is 75 percent lower than the previous year where 5,993 jobs were created through FDIs.

According to the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the service sector is expected to be the highest gainers especially the Agric sector.

It is expected that Ghanaians will have about 85 percent of the said jobs while the remaining goes to expatriate.

1,290 jobs are to go to Ghanaians while 214 will go to expatriates.

The Agric sector however in the previous year  (2015) during the third quarter employed 95 people.

Meanwhile, the Building and Construction Industry is expected to employ 350 people.

About 21 people will be employed in the Export and Trade sector and General Trading sector will employ 149 people.
