According to various media reports, Twitter has just named Google’s former chief business officer, Omid Kordestani as its executive chairman.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey made the announcement on Wednesday. Kordestani was Google’s chief business officer who recently stepped down to take up a role as an adviser at Alphabet and Google. Now, CNBC reports that Kordestani "is no longer affiliated with Google."
Kordestani is also one of the earliest employees at Google, joining the company in 1999, a year after Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded the tech giant.

He essentially built Google’s business operations from scratch and based on Dorsey’s tweets, it seems like Kordestani will “coach” him and the rest of the company’s leadership.
"We are moving forward with a restructuring of our workforce so we can put our company on a stronger path to grow," Dorsey wrote in a letter to staff.
