Mad rush for Kalyppo after 'Nana Kalyppo craze'

A picture of the NPP’s Presidential nominee sipping Kalyppo fruit juice which was meant to possibly mock Nana Akuffo Addo has interestingly started a social media challenge.

Vendors of Kalyppo juice at the Madina Market in the Greater Accra Region say they have run out of stock after the social media challenge started.

Speaking to Pulse.com.gh a vendor who gave his name as Kofi said their stock got finished the very day it was delivered to them.

"The last time we had Kalyppo was yesterday (Thursday, October 7, 2016) afternoon. We got almost 3000 cartons of drink and it finished that very day. it has never happened that way.”

“Formerly when we take 3000 cartons of Kalyppo it takes three to four days. But Kalyppo finishing within a twinkle of an eye has not happened before.”

Another retailer David said even though the fruit juice has a readily available market he did not know of the ‘kalypo challenge’. He expects to receive another stock soon which will sell out faster than before.

“We just thought people were buying Kalyppo. If we take another stock we expect it to finish quickly than before because of the Nana Addo challenge.”

The challenge which is named ‘KalypoChallenge’ has caught on with a number of people believed to be pro-NPP.

People who are supporting the challenge take pictures of themselves while sipping Kalypo and post them on social media.

A Facebook page has been created to enhance the challenge. The page is called ‘Kalypo Movement for Nana.’
