Amazon force workers to sign agreement

Amazon is known for releasing its seasonal workers without warning or explanation. Labour lawyers say so far, there has been no proof that Amazon is enforcing these agreements.

Seasonal workers working for Amazon have complained to Gizmodo about the ill treatment meted out to them by their employer. They say temporary factory workers at Amazon, have to sign away your ability to work almost anywhere else, for 18 months after your contract is finished.

The Amazon contract, obtained by The Verge, requires employees to promise that they will not work at any company where they "directly or indirectly" support any good or service that competes with those they helped support at Amazon, for a year and a half after their brief stints at Amazon end.

Labour experts are calling on former workers of Amazon who have signed these controversial non-compete agreements to come out in the open.
