FIFA presidential candidate Prince Ali bin al-Hussein reveals plan of working with former UN Secretary General when elected as the next FIFA president

Prince Ali bin al-Hussein in his speech ahead of the voting on Friday said of his plans when he is elected as the next FIFA boss:

“Today you can reclaim your FIFA and prove to the world that we are the guardians of the game.

“Under my presidency people will build on the best of the past, and leave the worst behind. The reforms are a step in the right direction, and we must press ahead together in an inclusive way.

“My first task will be to take responsible action to end the current crisis, I will bring in Kofi Annan, Catherine Bertini, and Rick Parry to help.

“A change in culture means embracing shared values of openness, transparency, non-discrimination, against racism.

“A FIFA free of corruption and committed to football development across the globe. Together we can restore FIFA’s reputation, credibility and legitimacy. The new FIFA is your FIFA.

“We will reverse the pyramid and put the interests of the national associations at the top with the ultimate aim of self-sufficiency. The game and its players will be protected from any form of exploitation...our social responsibilities will be robust.

“I am one of you. We can make history by electing a president directly from a member association. As FIFA president I will represent all nations.

“I enter this campaign as an independent candidate, beholden to no-one. As president I will be beholden to no-one except you. We have to take a united stand against the status quo.”

The voting for the next FIFA president will be done on Friday afternoon at the Extraordinary FIFA Congress.
