F1 star bounced from Wimbledon final over dress code

All male guest at the Royal Box at the Wimbledon are to be dressed in shirt and tie and not even the reigning Formula One Champion  Lewis Hamilton can be spared of this rules.

The English driver was not allowed into the box to watch the males final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federerbecause he was not wearing a shirt and a tie.

Hamilton instead was wearing a colourful a colourful floral shirt and a fedora hat.

The 30-year-old was excited earlier about attending the final.

He posted a photo of his Royal Box invitation saying he was honoured to have received it.

"On my way to Wimbledon to watch the final. Honoured to have been invited to watch the men's finals from the Royal Box," he wrote.

After he was barred from entering the box, Hamilton posted a picture of himself on Instagram watching the men's final from a hospitality area inside centre court.

A Wimbledon spokesman confirmed that Hamilton was refused entry because of how he was dressed.

"If he was not adequately dressed you could infer that he would not have been let in, but we do not comment on our guests," the spokesman is quoted to say by .

"If he came without a jacket, tie or shoes he would have had two choices - not staying or going to get some extra stuff."
