Jordan Spieth fell four strokes behind Singapore Open leader Song Young-han after finally completing his second round on day three of the tournament.

Lightning brought action to a premature close for the 22-year-old American on Friday after completing just six holes at Sentosa Country Club, leaving the course at level par.

The two-time Major winner returned to the course but could only manage a round of one-under 71 after three bogies, including a disappointing six on the 18th hole.

Spieth spent the opening night one stoke off top spot in joint-third and pinpointed what caused him to fall behind the leading pack.

"Putting," he told Fox Sports. "I made all my putts inside of six feet and I missed maybe five or six today, a few for birdie, a few for par. So I’ve just got to get comfortable on the shorter-length putts."

Despite the added pressure, Spieth claims he was unaffected by the challenge of a split round.

"This has happened before, this is not unusual," he added.

"Through junior, college and professional golf you have delays where you have to come out and be prepared to play a lot of golf the next day and you have to hope that you’re on a rhythm.

"We were one-under before after the delay today and hopefully we can post a good one this afternoon. The course is gettable."

Spieth registered back-to-back birdies on the 10th and 11th holes but struck bogeys on the 13th and 15th to finish his round tied for seventh ahead of his third day getting underway.
