Two second-half goals from brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew helped Ghana defeat DR Congo 2-1 in the quarter-final stage of the tournament.

The Indomitable Lions also went past pre-tournament favourites Senegal, after beating them 5-4 on penalties to set up a crunch semi-final encounter with the Black Stars.

Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan – who is a doubt for the game – insists all is set for his side to triumph over their Cameroonian counterparts.

“Honestly, everybody is psyched, everybody is alright and everybody is ready for the game,” the on-loan Al Ahli striker said.

“We want to overcome Cameroon to make it to the final. Whether we play late or not, we want to win. That is all we want.”

Ghana has failed to win the coveted trophy since 1982, and the nation will be looking to take a major step towards ending that trophy drought when they face Cameroon on Thursday.
