Ayew was seen crying intensely after the Black Star lost the finals of the AFCON in Equitorial Guinea to the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire. His emotional breakdown was captured in endearing images by some photojournalist.

The star took to his Instagram page to apologise to Ghanaians, thank them for the support and also promise to bring back the trophy in 2017.
