Alhaji Muniru – father of both Sulley Muntari and Sulley Muniru – was reported dead on Monday after failing to recover from an illness.

The 62-year-old was a very respected personality, having been very influential in the football careers of his to sons.

And Muniru Sulley, younger brother of Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari, also paid an emotional tribute to his father in the aftermath of his death.

The former Liberty Professionals midfielder tweeted: “Great Dad!! We know you already safe out there! Rest in peace. Just keep praying for us like always. Sound sleep Muniru.”

Tributes have poured in from all angles since news broke about the demise of Alhaji Muniru, with former Black Stars defender Anthony Baffoe also sending words of commiseration to the family of the bereaved.
