I didn't bribe anyone - Boakye Agyarko
Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko has stated categorically without any equivocation that he never contrived or paid any money to the members of the Appointments Committee to wave a decision in his favour.
He said "at no point of my vetting did I feel that confirmation of my nomination was at risk", adding that, "I, therefore, had no motive whatsoever of influencing anybody with regard to my confirmation."
Appearing before the five-member ad hoc committee of Parliament investigating the bribery allegation, Mr Agyarko said "he felt “incredulous about the matter and all I said was I had done no such thing, would not do such thing."

Mahama Ayariga who is a member of the Appointments Committee, alleged that Minority MPs rejected GHc3000 given to them by, chairman of the Appointments Committee, Joe Osei-Owusua after they had found out the money was coming from Mr Agyarko who was then a minister designate, to induce them to approve him.
But Boakye Agyarko said he knew there was a majority in the Appointments Committee who could approve him by majority decision and same could be done in plenary so there was no motive all in paying any bribe.
