At the press conference, the NPP said Mr Naabu deposited the bribe money in his Prudential Bank account.
The fictitious press release adds that Mr Naabu has no account with Bank.
But in a swift response, the Bank said "it has noticed with great concern a fictitious document circulating on various social media platforms purportedly issued by the Bank on 1st December, 2016 with respect to the issue regarding Mr Bugri Naabu."
The statement urged the public to disregard it in "entirety as it is inauthentic, malicious and fraudlent."

It was signed by the Mrs Mary Brown, Deputing Managing Director, Banking Operations and Mrs Akosua A Boahen, Head of Marketing and Cooperate Affairs.
