Amit Mishra is in line for a first Test appearance in five years as India head to Sri Lanka for a three-match series.

Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been recalled to the squad to face Sri Lanka, but all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remains out of the selectors' thoughts.

Mishra's last Test appearance came against England at The Oval in August 2011.

His call-up is India's only change to the 15-man party that faced Bangladesh in June in a one-off Test which was drawn in rain-hit conditions.

Mishra has 43 Test wickets at 43.30 in his 13 caps.

Jadeja remains out of favour with the Indian hierarchy. The all-rounder was dropped earlier this year for India's tour of Zimbabwe, with suggestions that a lack of consistency the reasoning.
