Pablo Carreno Busta and Alejandro Falla eased through in the Ecuador Open first round on Monday.

Spaniard Carreno Busta was the only seed in action and he had no trouble getting past Brazil's Rogerio Dutra Silva 6-3 6-1 on the clay courts in Quito.

The world number 67, the eighth seed, broke serve four times to complete his victory in 58 minutes.

Falla was tested slightly more, but still came through as a relatively comfortable 6-2 6-3 victor over local hope and wildcard Giovanni Lapentti.

Another wildcard and local, Alejandro Gonzalez, was sent packing after a 6-7 (1-7) 6-3 6-3 loss to Argentine qualifier Renzo Olivo.

The Spaniards enjoyed a good day at the ATP 250 event.

Veteran Albert Montanes advanced with a 6-3 3-6 6-4 win over Jozef Kovalik and Roberto Carballes Baena beat American qualifier Austin Krajicek 6-4 6-3.

Inigo Cervantes won an all-Spanish affair against Pere Riba 6-7 (6-8) 6-4 6-3.
