APC case against EC to be determined on October 31

 
 
The court presided over by Babara Tetteh Charwey abridged the date for the hearing to Monday October 31, 2016 to allow for a speedy adjudication of the matter.

An Accra High Court has ordered for an early hearing of the suit filed by the All Peoples Congress (APC) against the Electoral Commission over the disqualification of flagbearer Hassan Ayariga.

The APC led by Hassan Ayariga resorted to the court after the EC disqualified him for failing to meet all the criteria set to contest the presidential elections in December 2016.

In their reliefs being sought, the party among others asked for an order to compel the EC to include their candidate as part of presidential candidates on the ballot sheet come December 7, 2016.

They also prayed the court to prohibit the EC and its assigns from carrying on with any activity to with regards to the presidential elections until the case is dealt with.
