Peace Council chides NPP, NDC over result claims

The two parties have been addressing the media in Accra to make known their own collation results.

The National Peace Council (NPC) has chided both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) for declaring themselves victors in the 2016 elections.

The NPC chairman, Reverend Prof Emmanuel Asante, told TV3 news that both political parties must act in a responsible manner to avert chaos. He also singled out the NPP for criticism after declaring themselves winner of the election.

While the NPP says it is winning by 54 percent, the NDC says the president is in a comfortable lead.

Also, the NDC slammed the NPP for the declaring the results, saying it is irresponsible and designed to cause confusion.
