The Northern Regional Police Command has invited the regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for questioning over his comments that the party will deploy about 40 heavily built men to all polling stations in the region to protect the ballot boxes on Election Day.

Confirming the development to pulse.com.gh the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Northern Regional Police Command ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said they invited him to hear his side of the story.
He explained that they cannot take any further action without hearing from Bugri Naabu.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service had earlier cautioned political parties who would use vigilante groups to be prepared to contend with the Counter Terrorist Unit of the Service.

But Bugri Naabu said this decision is to ensure a repeat of 2008 and 2012 does not occur.
