The election management body has resorted to the Supreme Court to seek review of the High court ruling.

The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has expressed optimism that the Supreme Court will rule in their favour in the appeal filed by the Electoral Commission to challenge the High Court ruling asking it to allow the party to correct the anomalies on their presidential nomination form.

Speaking to pulse.com.gh the Policy Adviser of the PPP, Kofi Asamoah Siaw said they believe the Supreme Court will support the ruling by the High Court.

An Accra High Court on Friday (October 28) instructed the EC to give an opportunity to the PPP to correct errors on their nomination papers.
According to the judge, His Lordship George Kyei Baffour the EC did not adhere to their own regulations spelt in the Constitutional Instrument (CI 44).
But a statement signed by the Head of Communications at the EC, Eric Dzakpasu, and copied to Pulse.com.gh said: “Having carefully studied the contents of the judgment, we respectfully disagree with the High Court judge’s decision on several essential legal and public policy grounds.”
