Breaking: Social Network currently experiencing technical difficulties

Users of popular social media site Facebook worldwide are currently experiencing problems with the site. Information gathered from users reveal that Facebook has been experiencing technical difficulties all day with varying degrees of problems being reported from everywhere.

While some users cannot access their accounts, other users are experiencing navigational difficulties within the sites’ user interface.

It is impossible to ascertain the cause of the problem right now but it could be anything from a minor problem with Facebook’s servers to hacking activities which would imply a serious problem.

The problem seems to be affecting users in and around eastern Europe more than anywhere else with the Twitter hashtag ‘#Facebookdown’ currently trending. Facebook is yet to release a statement or react to the incident and cannot be reached for comments at this time.
