Argentina and Mexico stayed unbeaten at the FIBA Americas Championship with narrow wins on Sunday.

Luis Scola starred again for two-time winners Argentina, who edged to a 90-87 victory over Uruguay.

Scola had a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Andres Nocioni chipped in with 22 points.

Mathias Keny Calfani Persincula (20 points and 17 rebounds) impressed for Uruguay, but they were outscored 53-43 in the second half.

Argentina are second only to Mexico, who also hold a 4-0 record after a 92-86 win against Puerto Rico.

Hector Hernandez was the standout with a double-double, scoring 28 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.

Canada remain on track for a spot in the semi-finals after Brady Heslip's 23-point haul helped them past Panama 103-66.

Edgar Sosa had 21 points but his Dominican Republic went down to Venezuela 72-68.
