Floyd Mayweather could fight on - Floyd Mayweather Snr
Floyd Mayweather Snr has thrown more fuel into the theory his son will fight again after his bout with Andre Berto on Saturday.
Ricky Hatton told Omnisport of his belief Mayweather will try to improve to a 50-0 record and usurp Rocky Marciano's record of 49-0 - which he is set to match when he enters the ring with Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Mayweather Snr was asked how he was feeling as his son's career came to a close, and replied: "It ain't going to really come to me until it's over.
"Right now, he's still in the fight on Saturday. I'm still here right now.
"We don't know what's going to happen after Saturday, we've gotta wait and see, because he just might really say, 'Hey, I'm gonna do it again. One more time'."
Mayweather Snr also took the opportunity to hit back at Amir Khan's camp, who have been putting pressure on the unbeaten American to take on the Briton.
"He ain't getting the fight for one reason, because I told his Daddy, I said, 'Youse a chump'," the 62-year-old said.
"And the other one, Amir Khan, there's nothing close to Floyd, and he's not going to get a penny if I've got something to do with it. And I've got everything to do with it."
Mayweather Snr said Berto (30-3) deserved the fight with Mayweather Jnr for the financial boon.
"He's mad because he's not getting a big payday, that's why," the ex-boxer added of Khan's displeasure with Mayweather's snub.
"I'm glad this guy [Berto] is getting his big payday, because some of these guys need a payday sometimes. Because, don't get me wrong, whatever he's getting, the Government's going to take half of it anyway.
"I've been getting paydays a long time, the Government's going to take all that stuff. They ain't getting that much."
