The body of Hajia Abiba Nnaba arrived in the Northern region from Accra this morning for the funeral rites.

The body was flown in an Airforce MI17 Helicopter from Airforce base in Accra to Busunu in the West Gonja district.

Parliamentarians, government officials, family and a section of the public are at the venue to pay their last respect to the president’s mother.

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has thanked all Ghanaians for the love and support shown him following the death of his mother.

In a tweet, Mahama said: “Sincere thanks for condolence msgs/visits. HE Kufuor, JJ NKAR, Adjaho Parl, Afoko, Delle CPP, NAADA NPP, Portuphy NDC many others.”
