The tournament is set to take place at Natadola Bay Championship Golf CourseĀ from October 6 to 9 and it is hoped the new deal will attract a stronger field.

"It is tremendous news that the Fiji International will be played on The European Tour for the first time this year," said European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley.

"The tournament will not only increase the playing opportunities for our members, it will also increase our presence on the world stage.

"I'm sure the tournament will be a huge success. Our thanks go to the Fijian Government and the PGA Tour of Australasia, with whom we are forging an ever-stronger relationship through our co-sanctioned tournaments."

Matt Kuchar is the defending champion at the event, which this year will feature a minimum of 59 players from both the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour, with an additional eight places being allocated by way of invitation.
