The report say that Mwanzo was found guilty of the crime by Judge Martin Muya who sent to the hangman for the gory crime, saying that Mwanzo does not deserve mercy.

Mwanzo pleaded with the court to grant him a non-custodial sentence, saying he has four children who solely depend on him, telling the court that he is really remorseful but Judge Munya told him:

“The crime you committed deserves a death penalty.”
