After claiming his maiden PGA Tour title, Branden Grace revealed four-time major champion and countryman Ernie Els predicted he would reign supreme at the RBC Heritage.

Despite having seven European Tour trophies to his name, Grace had never won on the PGA circuit, but that all changed on Sunday.

South Africa's Grace finished two shots ahead of former world number one Luke Donald and Russell Knox following his final-round 66 at Harbour Town Golf Links.

But it came as no surprise to Els, after Grace said: "He thought it's [a course] that's really going to suit my eye.

"It reminds me a little bit of Fancourt Links back home, because it's linksy. You really have to see your shots. You have to hit a couple different shots, not shots that you hit often."

Grace added: "We actually spoke on Wednesday. We went to his house for coffee.

"And he told me this is one event that I'm going to win a couple times in my career.

"It was nice to hear from a legend like that."
