Speaking to pulse.com.gh the Regional Minister said that “I will act as KMA boss until the President appoints a substantive MCE for the area.”

The Minister is playing this role following the resignation of Kojo Bonsu. Asanteman Traditional Council called for his removal after they accused him of allegedly taking a unilateral decision to remove Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng from the Kejetia Market project board without informing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

In his release to the press, he said “I have conveyed my resignation as the Metropolitan Chief executive for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to the President of the Republic of Ghana, His excellency John Dramani Mahama,” Kojo Bonsu said.

He also revealed that a meeting was held to officially introduce Ackon as the Acting Chief Executive of the area to the heads of departments and agencies as well as staff members.
