A deputy Minister of Communication Vincent Sowah Odotei was sacked from Parliament on Thursday, November 23, 2017, when he appeared to answer questions about his ministry.

According to Accra-based Starr FM, the Speaker of Parliament sacked him after the Minority argued that he Sowah Odotei was not well positioned to answer their probing follow-up questions.
The session was therefore deferred.
The Minority insists the substantive Minister of Communication Ursula Owusu-Ekuful should appear before the House to answer the questions.

In a related development, a standoff in Parliament has caused sitting to be suspended for about an hour.
The Speaker has refused to recognise the leadership of the Minority prior to the commencement of the budget debate.
The Speaker together with the leadership of both sides is currently locked up in a meeting to resolve the issue.
