Israel Dagg could make his long-awaited Crusaders return in Friday's Super Rugby clash against Jaguares.

The New Zealand full-back has not played for the in-form Christchurch franchise since suffering a dislocated shoulder in a provincial match for Hawke's Bay last September.

Dagg, who has 49 All Blacks caps to his name but missed out on a place in the World Cup squad last year, is poised to feature for Todd Blackadder's side when they go in search of a sixth win in a row at AMI Stadium.

"He will be in the mix somewhere this week," Crusaders coach Blackadder told Stuff.

"The amount of training you can put into these guys is unbelievable. We certainly would not expect him to be at his best coming back, but not far from it. He is itching to get out there."
