NBA star undergoes knee surgery, out for 3-4 weeks
New York Knicks star
"He will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks," the Knicks said, following reports that Noah could miss the remainder of the regular season.
Noah joined the Knicks last year on a four-year, $72-million deal after nine seasons with the Chicago Bulls, who recruited him as ninth pick in the 2007 draft.
However, the 6-foot-11, 230-pound Noah has been missing for seven games as he battles a hamstring problem and hasn't played since February 4.
The Frenchman underwent surgery on the same knee in May 2014, according a report on ESPN, but the latest procedure addressed a different injury.
Noah, the son of French tennis great Yannick, has averaged a disappointing 5.0 points in 46 games this season, well down on his career average of 9.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
The Knicks are languishing in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference standings in 12th place with a 24-35 record, four wins adrift of the playoff places.
