Ghanaian forward's return fails to spark win for Aston Villa
The Ghanaian forward started and played in the full duration of the game for Remi Garde’s side at Villa Park.
The return of Ayew however, was not one that changed the fortunes of Aston Villa as they lost their third straight game with the 3-1 defeat against Everton.
Ramiro Funes Mori opened the scoring for away team Everton after just five minutes of play. Aaron Lennon added a second for Roberto Martinez’s team as Everton went into the half time break leading by two goals to nil.
Romelu Lukaku made it 3-0 for Everton on the hour mark before Rudy Gestede scored a consolation for the home team to put the scoreline at 3-1 against Aston Villa.
Aston Villa’s defeat put them rock bottom of the English Premier League table after accumulating 16 points from 28 games. Jordan Ayew’s team are 8 points away from the next safe spot occupied by Sunderland.
