Kilde claims super-G crown as Feuz wins again

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde rounded off an impressive breakthrough season in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup by securing the men's super-G title in St Moritz.

By finishing joint-second alongside Kjetil Jansrud on Thursday, in a race won by Switzwerland's Beat Feuz,??Kilde retained a 40-point advantage over his fellow Norwegian in the super-G standings.

While Jansrud is an established performer, claiming the discipline's??crystal globe in 2015 having finished second the previous year, the 23-year-old??Kilde only won his first World Cup race at Garmisch-Partenkirchen earlier this year but can now celebrate a maiden crown.

Kilde's triumph??comes after countryman Aksel Lund Svindal -??an 11-time World Cup winner with five super-G titles to his name -??suffered a serious knee injury in January.

Svindal still finished third in the standings and tweeted: "Nice work in St.Moritz boys. Aleksander taking home his first title (of many to come) in the speed events. Congrats!!!"

Both Kilde and Jansrud finished a tenth of a second behind Feuz in Thursday's event - the Swiss claiming a popular victory on home soil 24 hours after winning the downhill race at St Moritz.

Adrien Theaux and overall champion Marcel Hirscher rounded out the top five, with eight of the 23 competitors failing to finish a tricky course.
