Second placed Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal who are third on the Premier League table both failed to close in the gap on Leicester in their London derby fixture on Saturday. The two teams took a point each in the 2-2 draw played at White Hart Lane.
Leicester took advantage of their failure to close and continued their stunning form with a victory later in the day.
The goal of the game came via Riyad Mahrez in the second half as the Algerian took all three points for Claudio Ranieri’s side who were playing away from home.
Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp and Daniel Amartey were both named on the bench for the Watford game.
Schlupp played the second half of the game replacing Marc Albrighton after the interval. Manager Claudio Ranieri’s gave Daniel Amartey some five minutes of play with the Ghanaian coming in for goalscorer and match hero Riyad Mahrez who tweaked his hamstring in the game.
