With the San Jose Earthquakes already up 1-0 on the Portland Timbers, Amarikwa won possession in his own half. He surged forward and got past Darlington Nagbe but soon realized he was all alone in the attacking half.
He decided to try a long-range chip and hit it perfectly, beating Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey by placing the ball in the upper 90.

The goal ended up being the winner, with the Timbers pulling a goal back in the second half. San Jose was able to see out the 2-1 victory.
