According to him, he is not "honourable" because he is not a Member of Parliament (MP).

He noted however, that he is also not involved in dishonourable things.

Prof. Frimpong Boateng said this when he was vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Thursday (February 2, 2017).

He begged to interrupt a question and said: “I don't know whether I'm honourable that is not to say I do dishonourable things.”

“I'm not an MP so I'm not permitted to carry that big position,” he added.

Most Ghanaians refer to politicians as 'honourable' even if they are not Members of Parliament.

However many have argued that the title 'honourable' is used for high-ranking government officials and politicians.
