Ghana midfielder officially joins Panathinaikos

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has signed a three-year-deal with Greek giants Panathinaikos after agreeing to leave Rubin Kazan.

The 26-year-old has had loan spells with Celtics and Las Palmas but has finally brought an end to his time with the Russian club after signing his deal on Saturday.

He has however arrived at the club at a time where fellow Ghana international Michael Essien is leaving the club.

Wakaso has been tipped to replace Essien, who has been linked with a reunion with international teammate Sulley Muntari at Saudi side Al Ittihad.
