Jarryd Hayne sticks with 49ers via practice squad

Former rugby league star Jarryd Hayne is back with the San Francisco 49ers, assigned to the NFL team's practice squad.

Hayne, 27, was released and waived by the 49ers, with reports linking him to numerous other teams.

But the two-time Dally M Medallist confirmed he was staying with San Francisco via Twitter on Monday.
"Signed to @49ers practice squad," Hayne wrote.
Hayne has played six games for the struggling 49ers, averaging 9.5 yards on eight punt returns.
He has also had eight rushing attempts for 25 yards.

The 49ers are bottom of the NFC West with a 2-6 win-loss record this season.
