Glasgow Warriors will be without Peter Horne for up to six weeks after the Scotland international suffered a fractured hand.

The back did the damage during a 23-19 Pro12 defeat at Cardiff Blues last Friday, a contest in which he scored a first-half try.

Horne was sent for an X-ray and consultation at BMI Ross Hall Hospital, where the 26-year-old was informed that he is set to be out of action until early November.

His absence is a significant blow for the Warriors with European Rugby Champions Cup matches against Leicester Tigers and Munster to come next month.

Horne should be fit for Scotland's clash with Australia at Murrayfield on November 12.
