Shaharyar Khan has revealed that Pakistan have made a decision over who should take over as head coach but are not yet ready to name Waqar Younis' replacement.

Waqar resigned last month after Pakistan's failure at the World Twenty20 in India, which came on the back of a poor showing at the Asia Cup.

Former England coach Peter Moores said he rejected an approach to return to international cricket with Pakistan.

But Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar hopes to be able to reveal Waqar's successor in the near future, with the Board of Governors set to cast their votes.

The PCB chief is quoted as saying by Express News: "We have finalised the new head coach but I cannot tell you his name. He can be a local candidate or a foreigner.

"We will name the coach within two days after due consultation. Everyone has forwarded his opinion during the meeting."
