Papacito P calls for end to toxicity on Ghana TikTok, urges creators to unite

Ghanaian content creator and multi-talented creative Angelo Boateng, popularly known as Papacito P, has called for greater access to TikTok monetisation for Ghanaian creators, arguing that the platform has become an important space for young people to build careers and create new opportunities.

Papacito P believes the growing number of young Ghanaians turning to content creation makes it increasingly important for creators to have access to systems that allow them to benefit financially from their work.

“Most Ghanaian community should be given access to monetization,” he said, stressing that content creation can serve as a viable source of employment for young people.

His comments highlight a broader conversation about the growth of Ghana’s digital entertainment industry, where TikTok has become a major platform for content creators, musicians, comedians and other emerging talents to reach audiences.

Beyond monetisation, Papacito P also believes creators need to rethink their approach to the constant pressure to go viral.

With trends changing rapidly and creators often competing for attention, he says the focus should remain on consistency, hard work and producing quality content rather than becoming overly consumed by the pursuit of trends.

“I think they should all be just consistent, work hard, put out good work and leave the rest to God,” he said.

Papacito P is also optimistic about what the future could hold for Ghana’s digital entertainment ecosystem if creators become more united.

According to him, stronger collaboration among creators could lead to greater development within the industry while creating opportunities for new talent, particularly musicians and other emerging artists seeking platforms to showcase their abilities.

“I believe there will be room for improvement and unity. Also the ecosystem will be better to help bring out talent artists,” he said.

However, he believes the growth of Ghanaian TikTok must also be accompanied by greater responsibility.

Papacito P expressed concern about what he describes as the toxic side of the Ghanaian TikTok community and called for measures that would encourage creators to produce content capable of making a positive impact rather than content that harms the wider community.

He believes government and other stakeholders have a role to play in encouraging responsible content creation and promoting good moral standards online.

For Papacito P, the responsibility ultimately rests with everyone involved in the ecosystem, including creators and their audiences.

His message to fellow creators and fans is simple: unity and positive influence must become a priority.

“We all have to unite and create a positive influence on the next generation,” he said.

As Ghana’s digital entertainment space continues to evolve, Papacito P believes the future should be about more than viral moments. He wants the platform to become an environment where creators can earn from their work, discover talent, collaborate with one another and use their influence to make a meaningful impact on the next generation.
