Peter Moores turns down Pakistan coaching role

Peter Moores has revealed he rejected an approach to become the head coach of Pakistan.

Pakistan are searching for a new coach after Waqar Younis stepped down following poor Asia Cup and World Twenty20 campaigns.

Moores had two spells in charge of England - the first coming to an end in 2009 following a fall-out with Kevin Pietersen.

He was then re-appointed in 2014, but left his role a year later after a dismal World Cup that saw England fail to qualify from the group stages.

"I was hugely flattered to be approached," Moores told ESPNcricinfo. "And I was very tempted by such a prestigious role with an exciting team.

"But having thought about it deeply, I don't think it is the right time for me or my family.

"I have committed myself to a consultancy role with Nottinghamshire and I am enjoying spending time with my kids as they grow up."
