Robertson secured £44,000 for his superb break in the sixth frame, having watched Thepchaiya Un-Nooh miss the final black against him to achieve the same feat earlier in the tournament.

The Australian led 5-3 at the interval and the first four frames of the evening session at York's Barbican Theatre were shared as China's Wenbo looked to take his first ranking title.

But 2010 world champion Robertson wrapped up the last three frames in quick succession to win the tournament and seal the £150,000 prize money.

World number three Robertson had thrashed top ranked player Mark Selby 6-0 in the semi-final and beat John Higgins 6-5 in the last eight.
