The suspended second national vice chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Crabbe said he will not kowtow to extremists in the party adding the committee that suspended him is illegal.
According to him, what is currently happening in the NPP amounts to a coup d'etat and must be confronted.
Mr Sammy Crabbe together with the General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong by unanimous decision were suspended from their various positions by the National Executive Council for what the party describe as gross disrespect and misconduct.

At the end of its deliberations, the NEC decided by unanimous decision of all 45 members present, to suspend Mr. Crabbe and Agyepong indefinitely.
In a communique, the meeting also considered the report of the Disciplinary Committee on petitions against Mr. Sammy Crabbe, 2nd National Vice Chairman. The meeting also by unanimous decision upheld the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee to suspend Mr. Crabbe indefinitely from his position as NPP 2nd National Vice Chairman. The petitioners against Mr. Crabbe were Mr. Boye Laryea and Madam Gladys Mann-Dede, both former Greater Accra Regional executives. The gravamen of the petition against Mr. Sammy Crabbe involved his violation of article 3 (D) on the duties of a member. Mr. Sammy Crabbe on several occasions publicly went against the NEC decision on the 23rd October, 2015 suspending Mr. Paul Afoko. He also in conjunction with Mr. Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong launched party membership cards and fundraising activities without authorization from NEC.
But Mr Crabbe speaking to Starr FM said, "The committee that met yesterday was not properly constituted, the disciplinary committee didn’t have jurisdiction. I will continue to serve and act as the second vice chair of the party and if any extremist try to frustrate me in performing my duty, I shall take them on physically.
"I am not going to accept an illegality, I won’t accept that, I will continue to do my job, the decision is illegal and I shall treat with the contempt that it deserves. I will not kowtow to the extremists. This is a coup d'etat and such coup d'etats are things of the past," he said.
