The 29-year-old was airlifted to hospital as a precaution following the incident – that occurred while fielding – and underwent CT scans to assess any damage.

Luckily, the tests came back clear, but the wicketkeeper-batsman will be kept under observation to ensure he suffers no further problems.

Silva made his Test debut in 2011 and has scored 1,404 runs – including two centuries – in 24 matches, averaging 31.90.

He is expected to be part of Sri Lanka's touring squad for their upcoming three Tests against England in May and June.
