Ben Stokes hopes to play some part in the remainder of England's series with Pakistan after injuring his calf at Old Trafford.

Stokes left the field on Monday after pulling up in his follow-through, the all-rounder immediately reaching for his right calf.

He played no further part in the 330-run win that levelled the Test series at 1-1, and subsequent MRI scans showed a tear in his muscle.

The 25-year-old was left out of England's squad for the third Test at Edgbaston next week, but he still hopes to feature again against Pakistan.

"Devastated about the injury especially with all the hard work put in by myself and others to get me back to FULL fitness," he posted on Twitter.

"Another couple weeks of rehab and hoping to finish off what has been a great summer so far for @ECB_cricket."
