President Mahama touted the African continent to be the next fastest growing continent in the world. He, therefore, asked that the continent is given enough opportunities for such a feat.

The principles of democracy are new to Africa and therefore developed continents must desist from forcing its practices on Africa.

This a view held by President John Mahama. He argued that democracy is a new introduction to Africa and just as the developed countries made mistakes when they started practising they must make room for mistakes from African countries too.

President Mahama who was speaking at the 71st United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, and said
