US PGA Championship: Jason Day makes move at Baltusrol

Reigning champion Jason Day moved into a two-shot lead at the US PGA Championship midway through his third round.

The Australian was one of 10 players who failed to get out on the course as storms hit Baltusrol on Saturday to force the abandonment of play.

But he hit the turn nine-under par for the tournament on Sunday, holing a huge putt at the sixth and making a further gain at the ninth.

Day overtook American pair Robert Streb and Jimmy Walker, who had topped the leaderboard overnight.

Open champion Henrik Stenson was in a group of players just two strokes back.

The fourth round started just an hour after the final pairing had gone out for their third rounds.

With the threat of further storms still lingering, a Monday finish remains a possibility, as was the case when Baltusrol last hosted the US PGA in 2005.
