Curry was hopeful of playing against the Trail Blazers on Saturday, with the Warriors leading the series 2-0.

However, coach Steve Kerr is unwilling to risk the reigning NBA MVP, telling a news conference: "It's tough to see him playing Saturday.

"He's gotten better and better each day.''

Kerr added: "Everything has gone very smoothly. He hasn't had any setbacks. He's ramping up things in the weight room.

"We probably need to get through that process. We need to see him in rhythm, cutting, moving and see how he responds the next day as well."
