We won't accept chop boxes, POJOSS says

The authorities at Pope John Senior High School (POJOSS) are only allowing trunks and not chop boxes in order to control bedbug infestation.

The school said it will only allow trunks (metallic boxes) for use by students in storing food and other basic materials.

Authorities explained that the move is aimed at controlling bedbug infestation in the school.

The free Senior High School policy has meanwhile begun in all public senior high schools across the country today, September 11, 2017.

The government has since released 50 percent of the money for the programme to begin.

By free SHS, there will be no admission fees, no library fees, no science centre fees, no computer laboratory fees, no examination fees, and no utility fees. There will be free textbooks, free boarding and free meals and day students will get a meal at school for free.

A little over 400,000 students are expected to benefit from the policy.
